Where a meter belongs
Meters can belong to a whole property, a unit, or a client context depending on how the utility is measured.
- Property meters usually track shared utilities or building-level consumption.
- Unit meters are useful when each apartment or office has separate readings.
- Client-linked meters support occupant, resident, or tenant reading requests and client-facing workflows.
Reading submissions
Use submission settings when clients should provide readings periodically. Proforio can show open submission windows and track submitted values.
Keep the meter name, unit, and schedule clear so readings are understandable in reports, invoices, and notifications.
Meter Reading integrations
A Meter Reading integration connects your account to a supported reading adapter, such as SkyMeters or wmbusmeters.
For pull providers, select the integration on automatic-pull meters. wmbusmeters sends data to Proforio and matches meter serial numbers automatically.
- Choose the adapter that matches the reading provider.
- For wmbusmeters, create the integration with a name and copy the generated token. Other adapters may ask for provider credentials.
- Use the meter serial number or external meter ID expected by the provider.
- For wmbusmeters, download proforio-wmbusmeters, install the .deb on your device, and run its setup command with the generated token. The default sends the latest reading per meter per hour. Public guide: https://proforio.com/docs/integrations/wmbusmeters/
